Leadership Scholars

As a GFX Leadership Scholar, you will develop leadership skills, connect with campus leaders, and engage meaningfully in the Champaign-Urbana community.

Lifetime Leadership Mindset

As a GFX Leadership Scholar, you will be prepared to act as a leader in the classroom, student organizations, and the community!

Supported by the Women in Engineering, this course will focus on the leadership competencies, attributes, and values required to be a successful, community-engaged engineer.  Students will learn more about themselves as leaders and how to apply their competencies in teams, organizations, and their community.

Fall Semester (1 credit hour)

Take a fall course taught by dedicated engineering faculty and learn firsthand from a variety of campus leaders about communication, collaboration, and inclusive leadership. 

Spring Semester (1 credit hour, optional)

Have first choice to take a semester-long course focused on social innovation that will conclude with a short-term faculty-led study abroad trip in May 2025.
