Intersections of Engineering and Impact

Responsible AI scholars explore how engineering impacts society in real-world practices and applications of AI. The course uses interactive, discussion-based approaches to help you identify and develop values and strategies of AI implementation.

By participating in this program, you are agreeing to travel during spring break.

Program Dates & Fees

Students are responsible for arranging and paying for transportation to and from Chicago and all meals for a 4-day, 3-night trip to Chicago during winter break or spring break. Students with questions should contact GFX at engineering-gfx@illinois.edu.

Program dates for the March 2027 program will be shared by October 2026.

Fall Semester (1 credit hour)

Take a course taught by experienced faculty to learn and about AI through the lens of law and ethics.

Spring Semester (1 credit hour)

Students explore and apply their knowledge with real-world companies and case studies.

Winter Break or Spring Break

Travel to Chicago for several days of experiential learning.
