Develop the ability to understand how your interests, strengths, and experiences can shape your future direction in a dynamic and global engineering environment.

Career Development Scholars will explore potential career paths, gain clarity about their goals, and begin building the skills needed to thrive in the engineering workplace. Students will learn about key competencies valued by employers, such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and intercultural awareness, and how these abilities contribute to academic and professional success.

The course uses a hands‑on, interactive, and discussion/team‑based approach with active learning exercises that encourage reflection, collaboration, and real‑time skill building. Throughout the semester, scholars will learn how to navigate career resources, participate in activities that build confidence in networking and professional relationship‑building, and begin preparing for future internships and opportunities.

Fall Semester (1 credit hour)

An engaging, interactive course taught by Engineering Career Services staff, designed to help first‑year engineering students build foundational career skills, explore future possibilities, and begin developing their professional community.
